Rust protection of an inside surface of an enclosed area like fuel tanks, boilers, tube & piping systems has always been a challenge for various industries during manufacture, use, storage, export, layup, and preservation. While there are permanent methods like painting & galvanization there has been a lack of technology for temporary corrosion protection.
An effective way of protection for ferrous & non-ferrous internal surface of such enclosed areas is using NOX-RUST® VCI LIQUIDS & POWDERS TECHNOLOGY. This technology derived is from the Daubert VCI® concepts of polarity and volatility and the ability to self-apply and dissipate. VCI chemicals from the oil, water-based solution or powder volatilize in the 'enclosed' environment and form a protective molecular layer. This protective layer prevents moisture, salt, dirt, oxygen, and other materials from depositing on the metals and inhibits corrosion. In most cases, the parts are ready to use, and removal is not required as these products are compatible with most process fluids, lubricants & fuels expected to be used in that area. The powerful polarity of these VCI molecules lets them migrate into recesses and hard to reach areas in even the most complex shapes. Typically, a quantity of 1% to 4% NOX-RUST® VCI liquid or powder of the void space provides excellent vapour phase protection to the applied system.
